Casting
Sunny Deol reprises his role as Tara Singh, but he was first apprehensive since he believed that films like Gadar: Ek Prem Katha could only be made once in history. “We made the movie Gadar, but the audience turned it into a Blockbuster movie,” He says. I was initially concerned about whether we would do justice and carry on the legacy of the first installment.” Anil Sharma, the film’s director and producer, explained how he convinced Deol to reprise his role, saying, “When I narrated Gadar 2, Sunny was a little hesitant because he felt Gadar was a blockbuster and didn’t want to meddle with it.” But I reminded him that the entire nation has been asking for a sequel, and we should respect their feelings.

Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma return as Sakeena and Charanjeet “Jeete” Singh, respectively, from the first film.

According to early estimates from industry tracker Sacnilk, it earned Rs 55 crore on Independence Day, its largest single-day take yet.
